Engineers and scientists from around the world gather August 17, 2004 in Austin, Texas to kickoff NIWeek 2004, National Instruments 10th annual worldwide virtual instrumentation conference. Through 165 technical training sessions and over 130 industry leading exhibiting companies, attendees will share ideas and experiences with colleagues and learn about cost-effective, flexible technologies for creating advanced test, monitoring, and control solutions.
JavaOne 1997 - Echos from the past
At the 2nd JavaOne Conference in 1997, there was a track dedicated to the possibilities of Java in the real-time embedded world. At the time, George was the Manager for Total System Architecture at Cummins and represented the diesel manufacturer on the panel discussion devoted to the long term vision for features that were labled 'Write Once, Run Anywhere' and the 'Java Web Tone'. Although these catch phrases have long died away, many of the comments about the power of a standard architecture still apply.
